My Vintage Shopping Experience

So on October 29th 2010, me and my class went down town to Ossington and Queen to do vintage shopping for our vintage scenes. Personally, I had a lot of fun. It was my first time going vintage shopping and I didn’t know what to expect. At first, I didn’t really want to go. The thought of trying on other people clothing had got to me. All I could think of was, were has these clothes been. I didn’t know if they’ve been washed, and even if they said they washed it, was it really washed?  So when we got down town, I was amazed to see how many stores were actual vintage stores. I thought there would be maybe a few or like 10 to the max.  But I was wrong. I was also surprised to see how many people do it. See since we were down town, I thought that when you go into these vintage store, you would see homeless people walking around looking for clothes, but no. I actually saw pretty average to wealthy people walk into stores and buy items. Another thing I assumed was that the clothes you would find would be out of style or torn up. Why else would someone throw out there old clothes. But again, I was wrong. There was actual appealing stuff there. So to me vintage shopping was the complete opposite to what it sounds like. Yes vintage may sound old, but it also is fashionable. I definitely recommend others to try this and hopefully learn from all of this.
