After the welcoming, we were given our first major assignment. This assignment was called Branding. Almost everyone was familiar of this assignment, but for me, it was something new. The task was that two different teams had to compete against each other and brand the class. Branding means to build a name, and expand on it by networking. Our class wanted to clash on the genders, so we were put into groups based on our sex. It was boys vs. girls. I’ve heard that in previous years boys had always beaten the girls, so we “the boys” decided to keep the legacy alive and win again. Our Name was Infinite Productions, and our slogan was “Our destiny is to leave a legacy”. Since Ms. Thomas was thinking of completing her term here at Fletcher’s, we decided that why don’t we leave a name that would be remembered for a life time. We all had something to bring to the table. I had the experience in film and video, sound and lighting equipment, and the software technology to create our media work. We spent a lot of time on this and made many sacrifices. To meat our expectation, we decided to work day and night, which meant no social life and no sleep. As the day was approaching, I ran into a problem. On the September 27th, 2010 I had both a driving test which was booked over two months before, and the branding performance. So I was stressed and asked to change the performance date, but the date was set and unable to change. So I had two options, 1st option was to cancel the driving test, and my second option was to go to the driving test and rush back to the performance where my grades were on the line. So under the pressure, I made the sacrifice and canceled my test. Now its time to get my act together and focus on what is more important, and that is competing against the girls, and hope to keep the legacy alive.
